Horsepower rating must not exceed .56 HP (manufacturer's specifications) and not exceed 3 ports, (including exhaust). Legal engines for the 2008 season are the OS 12cv, and Dynamite 12spd; non-pull start. Carburetor restrictors are optional unless specified by host track. Aftermarket heads are allowed with a minimum of one head shim in place. No turbo heads or plugs are allowed. Engines may be re-built with stock (model/manufacturer) parts only. The Duratrax piston/sleeve #DTXG1520 may be substituted for the stock OS replacement kit due to parts availability, but must remain in stock form, with NO modifications.

NOTE: The OS.12CV will still be legal for the 2008 season. It can be rebuilt, using stock manufacture's parts, as long as parts are available (see above). New engine rules will be implemented for the 2009 GASCAR Season, due to market availability of engines. The market is moving toward the new "Rear Exhaust" 12 engines, and we are looking at a replacement for the side exhaust engines currently running.

(three and four shoe clutches are not allowed).

Custom-made clutch shoes are not allowed unless available on the retail market.
See note below:

NOTE: New clutch materials are being produced by Bandit Racing and KSG. When these new clutches are available on the retail market, and are approved by majority vote of the GASCAR membership, they will become legal for the 2008 season. As of right now, clutch rules remain unchanged.
