GASCAR members need to vote on the Engine rules for the 2009 Season! The OS12TG(P) or the OS15CV!

One of the .12cc engines under consideration for the .12 Pro Pan Class for the 2009 season is the OS12TG(P). This engine replaces the 12CV and has a two year warranty. It will only be available with the Pilot Shaft (P). This shaft is suppose to work with all clutch/flywheels currently on the market. I spoke with Andy McClellan of KSG, and he has spoken with OS, so this information is the most current. The engine sells for $159 through Tower Hobbies, with either the 12E Rotary Carb or the 12D Slide Carb. You can get a look at this engine from our "Download Page" by clicking on the picture.

Andy has agreed to work on a new Header/muffler combination for this engine, since it is a Rear Exhaust configuration. His exhaust system will be the only legal exhaust system for this engine in GASCAR, so keep tuned to this site for updates. Also, I have purchased one of these engines and will get with Andy and any other interested racers, to get all the bugs ironed out well in advance of the '09 season. We want to be sure we have an adequate clutch/flywheel and exhaust system available before the '09 season starts.

The other engine, suggested by John Forrester, is the OS 15CV, which, according to Andy McClellan, will be around for some time, based on information he received from OS. The 15CV is the same case, head and outside configuration as the OS12CV that we are currently running. This makes for a much better substitute for the 2009 season, since all of our current parts will fit. Muffler, clutches, carburetors and heads will all fit. The Horsepower increase is just from .56 to .7. The RPM range is the same. Cost on the OS15cv is just $99 from Tower Hobbies.

Depending on which engine our members vote on, we may need to vote on which carburetor to use for the 2009 season. The Rotary carb gives more response in the mid-range, and is the same as we are running now. The slide carb gives more response on the bottom end and top end. We have always used the 10E Rotary on our 12CVs, but the slide carb might be better suited for our purposes if we go with the 12TG, since top end and acceleration are more important to us.

Please vote on which engine and carb you would prefer, via our "Contact Us" page. Or, feel free to make further suggestions. Please fill out the "e-mail" form and put your preference in the "comment" section. You will find the link for the e-mail form at the bottom of the contact page.

We will use the engine/carburetor that is preferred by the majority of members voting, so your vote is important. GASCAR has always been an organization run b the raceres, so your vote is important. Thank you so much for your support.

GASCAR will run the .09 Pro Pan Class and the .12 Pro Pan Class for the 2008 Points Series!
GASCAR will run only two classes for the 2008 GASCAR Points Series. 12 Pro Pan and .09 Pro Pan will be the only classes allowed. Please refer to the "Our Services" link on this website for complete rules for each class.

WE WANT YOUR INPUT!

We like our racers and readers to give us your ideas and thoughts that might help make GASCAR a better organization. GASCAR is an organization run by its racers, and the majority vote of its members makes the rules. Please use the e-mail form on our "Contacts" page to send us your thoughts or suggestions. Or, just e-mail us, at the address listed, for a quicker response.

POINTS TOTALS FOR THE 2008 POINTS SERIES

Points totals for the 2008 season will be awarded for the best 4 out of 6 GASCAR races. This leaves each racer with 2 (two) throw-out races. Points will be awarded for the GASCAR "500" even though it is a "payback" event and longer race.
